Horse Race Event
Each Flight competes against the others within the flight. Winners get $150 Cash per flight, one winning team per flight.
- The winner of the event is the team with the lowest gross score on all four holes. The event is alternate shot, gross score.
- Each pair declares who will tee on what holes, each player must tee off twice, it can be back to back but each player tee’s off twice and declares which tee shots before the event starts.
- Score Sheets will have to be turned in at the end of the event.
- Each team shall play with a marked ball.
- Each hole has an event drop area if the tee shot cannot be found or played the team must use the drop zone take a one stroke penalty and play from the drop zone to speed up play. You must take a drop in the drop zone in following situations:
- If the ball goes in the water on #2 tee to #16 green.
- if the ball doesn’t clear the hazard on #6 tee to #3.
- If the ball goes left OB the team must hit from the drop area.
- if the ball goes over the green and is lost or can’t be played the team must hit from the drop area.
- if the shot does not clear the trees on #17 to #1.
- If the ball cannot be found the team must play from the drop area.
- If the tee shot goes into a red marked hazard the team can choose to take a one stoke penalty and play from the drop area.
- After the tee shot the pair of players alternate shots until they hole out absolutely no putts are given and no maximum score is enforced.
- When all the teams reach the green the closest to the pin starts and continuous putting until done then the next one furthest out. No one marks balls on the green unless asked to. The referee decides who putts and in what order.
- Lift clean and place is the rule so mud on the ball can be wiped off. Each team can only play one ball no switching balls within a hole.
- In the event a team plays out of order (the wrong player on the team hits it or the same player hits the ball in without alternating) it is a one stroke penalty and return the ball to the previous spot.
Total team ties within a flight will be broken on a chip off back at the final green. Those waiting to chip will turn their backs to the person chipping, closest to the pin wins. Both members of each team shall participate in the chip- off. This will be refereed by the referee on the hole and the referee picks the spot to chip from.
- Each hole will have a referee who will record the total number of strokes per team at the end of each hole. Teams will also record total team strokes on their own sheet.
- Each hole will have a spotter near the green, thanks to the WGA for providing spotters players need to take care of the spotters.
